Jocelyn uses an integrated approach to therapy called Schema Therapy. The relationship with food or a substance has become an ingrained and key coping strategy for the “vulnerable child mode” to distract from trauma and attachment distress. Jocelyn encourages practice of Mindfulness Meditation to enhance awareness and reduce automatic, unhelpful coping schemas and develop active coping patterns to reprocess and resolve underlying distress.
Therapy can be enhanced through use of Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Radical Exposure Tapping (RET) and Clinical Hypnosis (for imaginal reparenting). Schema Therapy may also be integrated with Psychosynthesis to enhance the client’s awareness of their internal strengths.
